In 1997 Lake invented the first true winter-specific cycling shoe with the MXZ300. The unique boot shape allows them to trap warm air, which is the best insulator for any type of footwear. The MXZ304 continues to be the best of the best as the top winter-specific cycling shoe of choice.

Description

Last: Lake Winter Last has a much taller toe box than their traditional lasts. The Winter last allows the foot to maintain proper circulation even when thicker socks are worn. Their winter last is the standard for winter cycling footwear and also available in 2 widths.

Upper: Pittard’s WR100 Water Resistant Leather upper with Helcor Abrasion and Water Resistant Leather Protection panels makes for a durable, extremely comfortable and long-lasting boot. Leather is a tried and true material that has superior cold weather properties due to the molecular fiber structure that keeps the material from becoming stiff or brittle in extreme cold while also having natural breath-ability to allow moisture to escape which in cold weather internal moisture management is critical to maintaining warm and dry feet.

Closure: New Mid Power M4 Cartridge Tongue mounted BOA dial excels in ice, dirt and other challenging environments and is designed to be easily adjusted with gloves on. The mid-capacity dial combines durability and closure strength to withstand intense force & impact, without sacrificing fit and when combined with Click-Fit quick release, the system makes for an easier entry & exit.

Leather Over Flap with adjustable strap keeps snow and debris from settling into the top of the boot. The additional barrier protects the veins at the top of your feet from the cold and helps to keep circulating blood going to your toes warm.

Temperature rating: Comfortable from -14° C to 7°C). 100% lined with Outlast temperature regulating material helps to maintain a constant foot temperature as well as manage the wicking of moister away from your feet and helping your feet to stay dry so that sweat is not transferring cold into the core of the boots.

200gram Thinsulate Insulation from toe to heel has the loft to give a comfortable and insulating barrier that does not absorb water and maintains breath-ability so that moisture does not become trapped into the core of the boots.

Outsole: Heavy-duty Mountain V outsole by Vibram. This is all built on Lake’s legendary Nylon mid-sole that is extremely comfortable and stiff. For traction control they use durable and grippy Vibram rubber tread for sure footing and stability.

Insole: Thermosal Winter Insole is a 5 layer-insulating package of wicking felt, aluminum and non-crushable trapped air bubbles. Trapped air is the best insulator against the cold.

Available color: Black/White.
